Food For Life

We are working towards the Food For Life award.  We currently have the bronze level.  Year 2 children have been invited to take a lead by joining the Schools Nutritional Action Group (SNAG) to help us work towards this award. If you would like more information on FFL this is the website:

Read about our progress towards the award and our Food For Life Blog.

As part of Food for Life we would like to make parents aware of where they can find organic produce in the Leeds area. This website provides details of independent delis, restaurants, cafés and shops which sell organic food.

Sustainable Schools - For pupils, communities and the environment

As part of our curriculum ‘Me and My World’, school has decided to register to take part in the Sustainable Schools Framework.

Sustainable schools have a caring ethos – care for oneself, for each other (across cultures, distances and generations), and for the environment far and near. Schools are already caring places, but a sustainable school extends this commitment into new areas.  It cares about the energy and water it consumes, the waste it produces, the food it serves, the traffic it attracts, and the difficulties faced by people living in its community and in other parts of the world.

Sustainable Schools is made up of 8 key components known as doorways.  The eight doorways are entry points, or places where schools can establish or  develop their sustainability practices. Each of the doorways draws its inspiration from a range of national priorities around sustainable development.
