Principles

We ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all of the pupils.

We ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, this includes ensuring that the needs of socially disadvantaged pupils are adequately assessed and addressed.

We reserve the right to allocate the Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being socially disadvantaged.

Pupil premium funding will be allocated following a needs analysis which will identify priority classes, groups or individuals. Limited funding and resources means that not all socially disadvantaged children will be in receipt of pupil premium interventions at one time.

 

Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) Allocation for 2016/17 was: £37,380

The impact of the PPG for 2016/17 was:

  • Many children and families benefiting from advice and support from the Inclusion worker
  • Children identified as requiring additional support in speech and language receiving this
  • Closer links with hard to reach families who now have more engagement with school

Children achieving a good level of development who are eligible for pupil premium 62% (4 out of 7 children)

Children meeting the required standard in the phonics check 87%

Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) Allocation for 2017/18 is: £43,697

The Governors targeted the PPG to:

  • To fund a pastoral support team to work with children across the school
  • To provide additional academic support to ensure all children meet their targets
  • To support vulnerable families with payment of clubs and trips
  • To provide 1-1 support for a variety of needs across the school
  • To support parents to ensure that children are school ready

Our main barriers to educational achievement are:

  • vulnerability amongst some of our parents
  • children arrive with a range of complex needs

Impact will be measured by progress made by each child and this will be done half termly.  Actions will be adjusted where necessary.

The Pupil Premium Strategy is reviewed annually in September.
