I hope this email finds you all well and that you manged to enjoy at least some of the good weather.
We have three weeks left of this term and our transition plans are beginning to take shape. Transition pages have been created on the website which I hope you will find helpful over the coming weeks as we add to them.
Nursery and Reception staff are putting the finishing touches to their welcome to Yeadon Westfield videos. We have also invested in an app called Tapestry which supports direct communication between staff and parent/carers in Early Years. We are hoping that parent/carers will begin to use it this term [once we have sent out login details!]. Our plan is that we send out information using Tapestry and you can upload things done at home.
Our plans for children moving from Reception to Y1 and Y1 to Y2 include a goodbye video from their current teacher and a hello video from their new teacher.
We are planning to visit the Y2 children currently not in school to say goodbye. We will follow government guidance during these visits and will not be coming into your house.
We are also working on plans for September which will take into account government guidance which we hope to receive in the coming week. At this stage we have no idea what this will look like but we will let you know as soon as we can.
With regard to government guidance, we are continuing to follow this in school. Despite what you may have read in the press, this has not changed and the only updates we are expecting are about September. There does appear to have been some confusion.
School will close on Friday 17th July. We are having extensive building work done over the summer which will include work on the asbestos contained in the building.
We will open to Y1 and Y2 children on Wednesday 9th September and to Reception on Monday 14th September. Nursery children will begin their staggered start programme on Monday 14th September. Details about Reception and Nursery staggered starts will follow.
Have a lovely weekend.
