School Uniform
Our uniform consists of a combination of red, white, black and grey.
Black or Grey Trousers/Shorts/Skirt/Pinafore
Red and white checked dress
White shirt or polo shirt
Red Jumper/Cardigan
As the Infant and Junior Schools have recently amalgamated we do not have a new school logo at present. Children are able to wear uniform displaying the old logos and items without the logo. Uniform is available from PC Sports in Yeadon and MyClothing.
When the weather is wet the children will need some outdoor shoes or wellingtons to change in to.
Please provide your child with a named water bottle. It would also be useful if they have a book bag.
Please name as much clothing as possible, particularly jumpers, coats, trainers and Wellington boots.
Footwear
Yeadon Primary School is part of the Daily Mile Initiative. It is a profoundly simple but effective concept and its impact can be transformational – improving not only the children’s fitness but also their concentration levels, mood, behaviour and general wellbeing. The Daily Mile is a social activity wherein the children run or jog – at their own pace – in the fresh air with friends for 15 minutes. The children will run in their ordinary school clothes with trainers. We are therefore asking children to come to school in trainers rather than school shoes. We would encourage parents to buy trainers that have Velcro fasteners (for ease) and to stay away from named brands if possible. We would like parents to regard the footwear as work shoes which may get muddy etc (this will be evidence that they are having fun learning). Cheap sturdy trainers such as they sell at Asda or Tesco would be perfect.

PE Uniform & Swimming
For indoor PE or dance lessons the children need black shorts and a plain white school t-shirt. For outdoor PE children need black leggings or jogging bottoms. The children will also need a red school hoodie or zip jacket.
Plain black trainers should be worn daily as part of the school uniform.
Please do not send children to school in tracksuits or sweatshirts with logos or branded motifs (other than the school one), or football kits.
Children in Year 4 go swimming. They will need to bring a costume/trunks and a towel. he local swimming baths does not allow shorts/Bermuda style swimwear. Children can bring their own goggles.
Jewellery
The only permitted jewellery that may be worn is:
One pair of stud earrings (no other piercings are permitted)

Jewellery is the responsibility of the pupil and not the school. Lost or damaged items will not be refunded. Some jewellery may be worn for religious reasons, please contact the Headteacher. All jewellery must be removed during practical lessons, for example, PE lessons / swimming lessons. If children cannot remove their own earrings a disclaimer form must be signed by the parent/carer.

If a child repeatedly wears make-up, school will contact parents to discuss this.
