We require an enthusiastic, dynamic and effective EYFS fixed term class teacher to cover maternity leave from 5 January 2026 until 31 December 2026. The Governors are looking to appoint an outstanding EYFS Teacher on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • A focus on and an understanding of how to promote the best learning for children;

  • the ability to work towards challenging targets and accelerated progress for pupils including those with additional needs;

  • a commitment to improving children’s learning through tailored provision;

  • the ability to enthuse, motivate and engage children in all areas of learning;

  • enthusiasm, patience and a calm manner;

  • a variety of communication skills to respond to the needs of children and to work effectively with professionals and parents;

  • experience of using a range of positive behaviour management techniques;

  • a willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school community.

This role is temporary to cover maternity leave and is initially for 12 months or the return of the current post holder. This post is subject to a satisfactory 6-month probationary period.
