I hope this email finds you all well. We are coming to the end of our first week of nursery and reception children being in school. I would like to thank those parents involved for adhering to the new rules in school. We will try to be consistent but if a situation arises then there may be changes. Please ensure that you continue to come through the gate closest to the classroom at your allocated time. We will not be changing for PE and we will be outside whenever possible so please ensure that children come in trainers with a water bottle, a coat and a piece of fruit.
We haven't forgotten about those children and parents not in school. Please keep sending your photos as it's so lovely to see all the smiling faces that we are missing. I hope that the home learning is helpful and please remember we are here for any help and support you might need.
We are thinking about how we can organise transition for all classes and in particular Y2 in the current situation. We don't know if things are going to change in July which is the next stage of the government roadmap but you will know when we know.
I would ask if children are starting to ask about next year that you emphasise the positives of transition with them in the current situation. It is unlikely that transition this year will look like previous years and I think telling children that they are doing something special and unusual can help settle their nerves. The classes of 2020 will certainly have some stories to tell their children in 30 years time about their school life!
Please take care everyone.
Fingers crossed the good weather comes back soon!
