Helping Children with Worries and Anxiety Workshop

Leeds Rhinos Dance Spectacular

Well done to the Year 2 children who danced at Headingley Stadium on Friday night before the Leeds Rhinos game against London Bronchos.

The children have been practising hard and they were brilliant!

Keystage 1 Visit to Skipton Castle

Year 1 and Year 2 enjoyed their visit to Skipton Castle and had lots of questions for the tour guides who were very impressed by their knowledge of castles.  Thanks to the parent volunteers who came along to help.

The children took part in lots of exciting experiments last week.  

World Book Day and Author Visit

Year 1 and 2 children enjoyed a visit from the author Alison Brown.  They all had a go at drawing some of the characters from her books.  In the afternoon the whole school took part in a Vocabulary Parade.  It was very difficult to choose winners from so many amazing words and costumes.

Road Safety Training

Yesterday the local PCSO came into school to carry out road safety training with Year 1.  The children were all given a child friendly version of the Highway Code. They will be back again next term to visit year 2.

New Play Equipment

The children have been enjoying playing on the new trail equipment this week.  Apart from the obvious gross motor and health benefits, climbing activities help develop strength in children’s fingers, hands, arms and shoulders. These are the muscle groups which are essential to provide a stable support base for fine motor tasks such as handwriting and cutting skills.
