Information for Parents

Date: 27th Mar 2020 @ 1:42pm

Dear Parents/ Carers,

It seems much longer than a week since we closed our doors [temporarily] to most of our families. So much has happened! We miss seeing you on the playground everyday. I hope you are all safe and well and managing. This is a whole new experience for everyone and it will take time to adjust.

Staff will be sending ideas home each Friday and there will be activities during the week on the new youtube channel! Some staff are really loving their star appearances- I may have to rein them in soon!! I know that the channel is going down well with both parents and children which Is great. I can assure you that Mrs Nolan and  I will not be appearing.......The activities will probably change as we find out what works as this is new to us all.

Getting children to work at home can be difficult so please aim for a hour or two a day. The well being of you and your family is the most important thing. We don't want anyone spending hours arguing with a six year old or in my case a fifteen year old!

The key things to do are-

  • Read everyday whether that's listening to stories or children reading to you.
  • Do some writing- a paragraph or a couple of sentences [or one in Reception and none in Nursery]
  • Number work

Everything else will be a bonus, I promise. Use the ideas that we send to best suit you and your family.

Take care everyone and keep safe.

Regards
