Healthy Schools Beacon School Status
We are very proud to announce we are one of 15 schools across the city who achieved Beacon School status in the last academic year recognising our commitment to Healthy Schools practice, and for our excellent provision for social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) work in school.
‘The Beacon Schools framework recognises schools who have worked hard to prioritise their focus on the health and wellbeing of pupils, enhancing the health outcomes for these pupils, through an ongoing commitment to the Healthy Schools framework and their continued use of the school health check. As a service, we are privileged to see some innovative and dynamic approaches to supporting the health and wellbeing of the whole school community. This has an impact on the attendance, achievement and attainment of pupils in schools and supports pupils to strengthen their resilience to cope, manage and regulate their emotions, behaviours, attitudes; helping them to make informed decisions as they grow.’ Leeds Health and Wellbeing Service
